Trading education that's actually deep.
Free YouTube is shallow. Paid courses are padded. We thought there was room for a third option - written deep dives, custom charts, no ads, no signal upsells. That's what this is.

Why this exists
Trading education has two failure modes. Free YouTube is hook-driven and shallow - the algorithm rewards 6-minute videos that grab attention, not the 25-minute deep dives that actually teach mechanics. Paid courses charge $500-$3,000 for content that's often padded to justify the price, then upsell a signal group at the end.
This is the third option: written deep dives, free, with charts we built specifically for the concept, no email gate, no upsell. 80 lessons across four pillars - Intro, Technical Analysis, Order Flow, Risk & Psychology - each 15 to 25 minutes of real material.
Who writes this
The TradeOlogy team. We're traders and engineers building tools for traders - the academy is written by the same people who build the TradeOlogy journal app, which means the content reflects how working traders actually think about position sizing, journaling, order flow, and risk policy.
We don't put fake names on lessons. The voice is the team voice. Where a lesson cites a specific data point or empirical claim, we link the source. Where we're sharing a heuristic ("most pros use quarter-Kelly"), we say so plainly so you can decide whether to trust the claim.
The lessons are free. The journal app pays the bills. No ads, no sponsorships, no broker affiliate links - anywhere on the site.
How it’s funded
The academy is free and stays free. There is no paywall, no email gate, no "premium" tier hidden behind the public lessons. We don't sell ads. We don't take sponsorships. We don't affiliate-link to brokers.
What we do sell is TradeOlogy, a trading journal and analytics app. The academy exists partly to help traders succeed and partly because traders who want to journal their trades eventually need a tool - and we'd like that tool to be ours. That's the entire business model. No tricks.
Editorial principles
Chart-driven
Every concept gets a custom chart we built in code. No stock images. No screenshots from someone else's terminal. The visuals update with the design system, not as artifacts that go stale.
Honest about what doesn't work
We say when popular techniques tend to fail - Fibonacci timing, mental stops, indicator-stacking, most retail signal services. Trading education usually only tells you what to do. We tell you what not to.
Zero affiliate links
No broker referral kickbacks. No signal subscription affiliations. No course-platform commissions. If we recommend a tool, it's because it works - not because we get paid when you click.
Updated when content goes stale
Markets change. When a technique stops working, or a new tool changes the answer, we update the lesson. Each lesson shows when it was published so you know what you're reading.
Plain English, no false certainty
Trading is probabilistic. We say 'often,' 'usually,' 'in most cases' instead of pretending outcomes are deterministic. If a section is opinion, it's labeled opinion.
